Christmas 2016 Home Tour

Merry Christmas friends! Before I take down all the decor in my home I thought I'd take you through a quick tour of our holiday home. This year I went with traditional reds and golds in my home decor. I did splashes of red plaid and loved these more traditional touches in my home this year. Let's take a look.

Our Christmas card books are one of my favorite things we do each year. You wouldn't believe the amount of time we flip through them each season. I just love them.

I did a simple centerpiece this year, I filled my wooden box with glittery pine cones and ornaments. So simple and very pretty.

Our yummy coffee bar area got a little love with candy bowls of peppermints, a ginger bread house made by my sweet kiddos and these adorable mini box wood wreaths. I just loved all these little touches.

Thanks for checking out our holiday home. You can see more of the walk through in the video below. And subscribe to my YouTube channel while you're there. Lot's more coming there in the new year!

Our Kitchen Reveal

Last we left off we'd just painted our kitchen cabinets. This entire year we've been working on our kitchen, and after we painted the cabinets there were just a few other small changes that we wanted to make.

I'm excited to share with you where our kitchen is at today, it's truly been a labor of love. I've loved making these changes over the last year. It's been good to live in this house for a while before tackling this project. We were really able to see what changes we wanted to make that would add value to our home and make the biggest impact!

Before we get into all the changes let's take a look at what our kitchen looked like the day we moved in;

Our kitchen in this home was much smaller than our last, but I loved the dark granite and knew painting the cabinets would make a big impact in this space! Since the kitchen us a U shape, had dark granite and in the corner of our home our goal was to brighten up this space.

Below are a few images of our kitchen cabinets before we painted them and after we installed a white subway tile backsplash;

And here's the beautiful after and how our kitchen looks today:

I knew I wanted a contrasting pantry door, so I painted it with chalk paint. It was a quick and easy weekend project that makes a big impact I think. The magnolia wreath was a DIY and the "EAT" letters are from Hobby Lobby.

We had a cabinet that was detaching from the wall and it turns out our predicament was the perfect reason to get rid of them and add these industrial inspired farmhouse open shelving. There's tons of tutorials online to make these shelves.

I'm so glad we choose to do this in our space, it adds a little something extra and we get tons of compliments on them. It also gives me a great excuse to display some of my favorite dish and glassware.

We're completely in love with our new kitchen, we love how this space has turned out. To see more of our kitchen progress check out these posts;

Finishing Touches in My Office with AT HOMES STORES

This post is sponsored by AT HOME Stores, all thoughts and opinions are my own. Thank you for supporting brands that help make this blog possible. #ad #athomestores #collegemovein

Feels like I've been decorating this shared office and guest room space forever! But the truth is, I love collecting just the right pieces over time, designing things on a budget and putting it all together.

We got a futon back in May for this room, the one I found can be separated and be two chairs or one couch. When we don't have guests over we keep them separated. I knew I wanted to find a small end table that I could place between the two and move for guests to use when they came over to put their items on.

We went and did a little shopping at AT HOME stores, have you ever shopped here before? I hadn't been here before, but was so pleasantly surprised how big their store is and how awesome the selection is.

Right now they have an incredible selection of items for college dorms and everything to get your student ready for their dorm room. Check out their college move in check list here

They have some awesome collections sectioned through out the store and online, I loved the Femme de Luxe collection, perfect items for my office since it's already so girlie!

I found a really beautiful quatra foil end table for my space. And a fun gold sphere to decorate the top of the table with.

One Year House Tour

Hard to believe that we've been in our new home for one year now! We've made a lot of changes in the last year, but I have to say my favorite transformation is the work we did on our kitchen the last year. So let's go through the house for a chatty tour of all the changes we've made!

Thanks for joining me today on this tour! We've got more projects and improvements planned for year two. I can't wait to transform the guest half bath downstairs soon! Stay tuned for more!

Organizing Under the Kitchen Sink Cabinet

We've been in our home a year now. Now that everything pretty much is in its place I've been organizing everything in sight. It started a last week with our pantry (can't wait to show you that) and then next it was time to organize the area under our kitchen sink!

This are tends to get neglected I think. Stuff gets thrown in there and forgotten about till it's time to clean and you're frustrated that things are falling every where and you can't find or access what you need. I was over it. So I took everything out, cleaned the cabinet and got some organizing tools and got it work! Here's the before of this space:

Crazy right!! So much crap and random things under there. I purged and got rid of the ratty cloths I was using in exchange for some nice micro fiber ones (linked below) moved the play dough and paint to the kids spaces. Got rid of all the bulky bins that didn't move in and out well. Ready for the after?

I even made a video to show you in person all the changes I made in organizing this space. Watch below!
