READ | How Big Is Love

This post is brought to you by B&H Publishing, I was given this book for the purpose of this review. All thoughts are my own. Thank you for supporting brands that help make this blog happen.

We have a child who is reading these days, so I'm loving finding books that are easy for her to read. What I love even more are books that are faith based and share the love of Jesus with my kids.

'How Big Is Love' is based on the scriptures of 1 Corinthians 13, and shares the love of Jesus through the love of parents in this book.

I also love the vibrant illustrations in this book. It's hard bound with a soft cover, a great book for your toddlers and early readers. They also have other books in this series 'How Far is Faith' and 'How High is Hope.'

READ | The Church Planting Wife by Christine Hoover

I'm back to share with you guys another book I've checked off my reading list. Friends, the car line has been so good for my reading game! I get about 45 minutes each day in the car line and I spend it reading.

My husband and I have been feeling a calling to church planting, and this last year we've been taking the steps toward that. This book was suggested to my by a friend who is a fellow church planter with her husband.

This book is full of helpful insight from a church planting wife, it's also full of stories from other church planting wives. A lot of the principles  and lessons in this book can really be applied to all types of ministry but it's written from the point of view of church planting. I found this really helpful as we've been navigating this process, and taking each day as a step toward what God has called us to.

If you're in a similar season I highly suggest picking up this book and reading it. Grab your copy via the link below.

READ | Giddy Up Eunice by Sophie Hudson

Thank you B&H Publishing for sending me this book for the purpose of this review. All opinions are my own.

The title of this book has me giddy because I have a sweet friend named Eunice too! Seriously. So this book had my attention from the get go!

I really loved so much about this book, I started reading it here and there when my kids were at swim lessons this month, and just finished it a few days ago. This book is all about the relationships we as women have with each other. As a huge advocate for building community and encouraging women I was so excited to read this book!

Reading this book is like sitting down with Sophie in your living room over coffee, it's like she's just having a conversation with you. She talks about real life stuff and uses examples of Godly women young and old in the Bible to show us how to learn and grow from one another. One item she touched on that made me nod my head and underline was this passage from page 75;

Culture tells us to compete. To look out for ourselves.
Scripture tells us to bless. To look out for each other. If we let ourselves get side tracked we may miss the wonder of seeing how intricately the Lord has woven us together.

Isn't that the truth?! Let's be women who encourage one another, cheer each other on. Let's be women who look at our relationships as what can I learn from you instead of what I can take from you. Amen.

This book brings beautiful insight into how we can do this more, and spur each other on! A must read for sure. I hope you pick up a copy soon, you won't be disappointed.

READ | Leading and Loving It by Lori Wilhite and Brandi Wilson

I finished this book last week during my kids' swim lessons. Side note; having 30 minutes each day to sit and watch my kids swim under the supervision of lifeguards and read was glorious!

Ok back to the book, this book was a re read for me. I read it years ago when it first came out. For those that don't know my husband and I were in full time ministry a few years ago and were out of full time ministry for the last few years. We're now pursuing church planting. So ministry is no stranger to me. Given the current season of life I decided that I wanted to read this book again.

This book is a must read if you are a pastor's wife or woman in ministry. I also think everything church goer should read this book to better understand your pastors job and the demands on their families.

This book covers so many topics as it relates to ministry, transition and change. I adore their hearts for pastor's wife and women in ministry and their honesty as they talk about their struggles they have had and lessons they have learned through the years.

READ | Looking for Lovely by Annie F. Downs

Thank you B&H Publishing for providing this book for the purpose of this review. All opinions are my own.

Remember my reading goal for the year? I've been super slow at reading this year but I'm still excited to read my 36 books this year. A couple weeks ago I finished this book while on a quick trip to Vegas.

I've never read any of Annie F. Downs books but I wanted excited to get this book in the mail and start reading and now I want to read all her books. This book goes through her journey of her life after she finished her book 'Let's All Be Brave" and the "break down" as she calls it that she had after writing that book.

I really loved her introspective thoughts on herself and her life during that season. She talks about how she started going to counseling and explores themes in her life like; why does she want to quit or run away when things get hard?

This season forced her to "look for the lovely" in her life. Or look for the good. This theme really resonates with me since the theme of my blog here is all about celebrating the everyday. And finding something in your daily life worth celebrating. Life is made up of lots of tiny little moments that matter.

Look for them. Cherish them.

Her writing speaks to my soul, she's witty and is full of great stories to tell. But it's her authenticity in her writing and her honesty that pulls you in and makes you want to be her best friend. She's got a whole lot of truth and a big dose of wisdom packed in these pages.
