My Review & Experience Using THREAD UP

Have you guys heard of THREAD UP? It's an online thrift store that you can sell your clothing to. The basic idea is that you order a clean out bag and then you bag up the items that you don't wear anymore and send it to them. They then go through your items and keep what they can re sell and give you a credit. A credit that you can either cash out or use to buy items from their store.

I had a closet full of items that haven't fit for over a year, so I decided to try out THREAD UP. I got my clean out bag in and got to work. THREAD UP specifically takes high end brands and clothing of the best used quality. For the full list of brands they accept look here.

I ended up sending in quite a few shirts, a pair of jeans and some dresses after checking the brands they accept.

Once they get your bag it takes 15 business days for them to process the bag and credit your account. One negative is that it takes quite sometime for everything to be processed. I finally heard back about my bag on 11/11.

Once you sign up for an account you get 40% off your first order, which is pretty nice. I think Thread UP is a great way to recycle your clothing, and buy items that are no longer in stock or available.

So what was the outcome of my polka dot bag?

I received the email that my bag was processed, they send you a link so that you can see what items they accepted and what they didn't. Out of a total of 15 items sent in only 2 items were accepted. This was a bit of a bummer, I have expected that more of my items would be accepted since they were all brands they currently accept. However, this wasn't the case and only two pairs of jeans in excellent condition were accepted at $2.65 for both pairs!

This pricing was also a let down. I understand this is a second hand store, but I could have sold my clothing privately and gotten at least $5 per pair out of the denim. I do not feel their buying rate is good at all, especially when I see jeans on their site for $10 and up. It just doesn't make sense.

I think as a buyer ThreadUp might be a good option to buy items that are discontinued or no longer in stock. But, as a seller you just will not make much off your items through ThreadUp to make it even worth it in my opinion.

Stichfix #4: What I kept & What I didn't!

I got my latest Stitchfix last week! If you're following me on Periscope (andreamworley) I did a little un boxing of my latest fix and my first impressions of the items they sent me. You can watch the video below and when you're done we'll talk about what I kept and didn't keep from this fix!

Ok, so now that we've seen what came in my box let's get to trying stuff on and my thoughts about what I kept and didn't keep. I specifically asked for a pair of black skinny jeans, and some dresses in my fix.

I got 2 dresses, 1 pair of skinny jeans, 1 shirt and 1 sweater.

First up was this cobalt blue top, I loved the color. However the fit was to bit and the arm holes were to big as well. Verdit: sent back.

The black skinny jeans my stylist sent were spot on! They are so comfy and soft and they have a cute zipper detail on the ankle. Verdict: Keep.

This cable knit sweater was so soft and cozy, it's perfect for those Fall nights here in Phoenix. Since I usually don't wear a coat this is perfect for when the evenings get a bit chilly. Verdict: Keep.

Ok, onto dresses; I was really hoping that I would love these. Initially I loved the black and white stripe one but when I put it on it didn't fit me as well as hoped. The other dress fit me well, but I wasn't sure if I liked the pattern and colors of navy & green. When my husband got home I tried it on for him and he didn't like it either.

Verdit on dresses: Send back.

There you have it, all my thoughts on my #4 fix! If you haven't tried Stitchfix yet what are you waiting for? Use my referal code and sign up. I get $25 credit when you sign up. Go here.

Splurge or Steal: Clutch Wallets

Today's SPLURGE or STEAL is all about the clutch wallet! Have you seen these before? I'm sure you have. I first saw them pop up when I was browsing Nordstom.com like a year ago. I love the versatility of them. They seem to fit a lot, and I love that I can use it as a wallet or throw it in my diaper bag and not carry the whole purse and what not.

First up the SPLURGE! This Lauren Hobo wallet from Nordstrom retails for $128! Sometimes you can find it on sale for around $85. It comes in a variety of colors and either matte or metallic finish. I've had my eye on this wallet for a long time but could never justify the hefty price tag.

So that's where the STEAL comes in! When I happened to be in Walmart again, of all places and was looking in the accessories section for a backpack for Ava this just happened to catch my eye and I thought what are the odds?

Urban Expressions Sandra Clutch wallet, comes in a few colors as well and the price $25! I love the inside as well, it's a bit different and has more pockets and such than the Nordstrom one.

It also comes in orange, navy, black, and kelly green are just some of the colors this wallet clutch comes in.

In this case I chose the STEAL clutch wallet at a price you can't beat! What do you think about these wallets? Which one would you choose, would you splurge or steal?

Wear His Message.

I love dressing up, I always have. I'm a dress & skirt kinda gal. But since becoming a mom and stepping out of the professional world often each day you can typically find me in a tee and jeans.

That's my basic daily uniform. I love finding a fun graphic tee and dressing it up with cute shoes, a bag and some accessories. I save my dresses for fun events and other outings.

When I came across this shirt from Persimmon Prints I just knew I had to have it! It says 'Love God & Serve Others.'

This is my heart, every day. I love the message of this shirt. A simple reminder of what God's heart is and what ours should be as well.

This shirt comes in 3 different colors, you can check it out here. I'm wearing the azaela pink color. This shirt is so soft, and the fit is really great. I'm wearing a medium. I love it so much I may have or may not have worn in three times in a row already. ;)

Dressing it up with my simple bangles from Groopdealz. And my favorite bag from Target!

And I can't forget my favorite studs from Walmart. Seriously, these are the best and they are $2.88!

shirt: persimmon prints

jeans & shoes: target (last Fall)

earrings: walmart

bangles: groopdealz
