Party Like It's 1776!

Happy Monday!

Did you have a good holiday weekend? We did.

I love long holiday weekends. My little brother came to visit us this weekend and we had the best time with him and my Grandparents.

For the first time in years we ventured out to stay up and watch the fireworks. It was a little hot and totally crowded everywhere but we ended up having a lot of fun. Ava finally wasn't scared this year of them so that's a win!

We spent our July 4th with my brother and Grandparents and hosted a BBQ at our home. I made homemade apple pie which was a hit as always! The kids splashed in the pool with Grams, we ate and had tons of fun.

Ava loved her time with her Uncle, and I'm so thankful he came and loved on my kiddos!

Fourth of July is such a special holiday for me because almost my entire family from Grandfathers, My Father, my brothers, Uncles, Cousins and friends serve or have served in a branch of the military. My little brother is an airman in the Air force, it was special having him here with us. I'm so thankful for those men and women who give their lives & time to serve our country so that I may live in Freedom.

It also reminds me that the ultimate price for Freedom was paid when Jesus died on the cross for you and for me. I'm truly thankful for that.

This guy right here, love him so much! Honored & humbled by his service to our country. Thankful we got to spend some time together before he's off for another Air Force training for the next couple months! Love you Shawny!

How did you spend your weekend? Hope it was fun!

Father's Day Movie Night with Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit

Father's Day is just around the corner, it's one of my favorite days. I love being able to celebrate and honor not only my husband but the many men in our lives. I wanted to put together a special Father's Day treat for my husband. He loves action movies, and we love to sit and watch movies together at home. I picked up DVD Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit Blu-Ray. Starring Chris Pine, Kevin Costney, Keira Knightley and Kenneth Branagh.

I put together a fun movie night themed Father's Day date night, here's how I put it together. I headed to Wal-Mart, they currently have a special DVD combo deal with Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit & The Italian Job for $12.96! It's such a good deal and with that you get $15 off tickets at Ticketmaster good through 6/14! The second DVD makes a really great date night part two!

I also picked up one of my husband's fave drinks and snacks and put them all together to gift him. We decided we're going to put the kids to bed early and enjoyed a date night in later that Father's Day evening. There's nothing we love more than snuggling on the couch together and watching movies, so this is perfect! And, the second movie in the combo makes for a great date night round two for another evening.

Another awesome perk of picking up the #JackRyanBluRay combo pack is that you get a $15 credit to Ticketmaster and a digital copy of both movies! Perfect for watching them on the go or travel, they will be awesome to have on our vacation later this summer.

What are your plans for Father's Day? How do you make it special for your Husband or Dad?

Coffee and Friends.

A couple weekends ago I had the pleasure of hosting some of my girlfriends over to try out the new Keurig Rivo System. There's nothing I love more than Jesus, friends & coffee (in that order.) I love throwing simple parties that take little effort and spoiling my friends when they come over.

I love to entertain and add special details, I try not to stress over throwing parties. One of the ways I don't stress out is that I buy easy store bought stuff and dress it up and make it fancy schmancy with out a lot of effort.

Fun paper bags holding party favors and store bought flowers are my thing! They make parties special.

I used the drink sleeve die from Lifestyle Crafts and made these cute personalized sleeves for each of my guests. The paper is all from the basics paper pack.

Store bought mini cupcakes get dressed up with some fun homemade cupcake toppers. Using one of the flag dies I cut them out using my Evolution Machine and inserted them onto white sticks. These are so easy to make and really dress up some store bought cupcakes. Use code WORLEYHOUSE for 20% off your purchase from www.shopwer.com

The new Keurig RIVO is awesome. If you love espresso drinks this is a must have at home. I used to work in a coffee shop and it took me a while to learn to make that "perfect" foam. But this machine does it all, and has seriously perfect foam each time! If you'd like to purchase one of your own you can use this code for 40% off from keurig.com (code: 7BJR5kJ) Good till 5/24.

Mother's Day Gift Guide

Mother's Day Gift Guide

Mother's Day is coming up! Today I want to share with you some simple gifts you can get for your mother, sister, Aunt or friend to celebrate her for Mother's Day!

I don't think you can ever go wrong with a great bag, I've got my eye on this Kate Spade one. I love the simple black & white with a bow! I don't think you can ever go wrong with a fun statement necklace or earrings. Scoop this one up from Charming Charlie & these earrings again from Ms. Spade. This leather bow cuff is one of my personal favorites it's simple & edgy.

And I love little gifts like this cosmetic bag filled with Essie polish and a glittery nail file. This bag is from Forever21.

What's on your Mother's Day wish list?

Our Easter Table

I love creating table scapes, I love pretty linens, napkins, flowers and fun dishes. When I thought about what I was going to create this month for Lifestyle Crafts an a fun Easter table came to mind.

I decided to make some place cards for each of my guests, and some drink flags to top the paper straws I was going to use. Using some of their fun die cuts, embossing folders and pretty paper here's how it all came together.

Products used:

Floral embossing folder

Petals Dies

Mini Fold Paper (white)

Party Flag Insert Dies

Using my Letterpress I put the mini fold card between the embossing folder and ran each one through. I love the designs on these and the texture is pretty fun too.

After I did all my cards (I needed 6 place cards) I started working on cutting out the small flowers to add to each card using the Petals die. Using some of the textured cardstock in a few different colors I made my flowers. One of the things I love most about the new cutting platform is that it's magnetic! Your dies won't fall off or slip around, so handy while you're running them through the Letterpress.

Using the sticky thumb I placed all my flowers on top of the cards with their matching leaves. I didn't want to cover up the entire leaf as I wanted some of it showing so I could write my guests names on them. I also cut out some drink flags to top my straws with.

Ready to see our pretty table? Yes! I let Ava pick out the flowers for the table. She loved going to the store with me and picking them out.
