I was born in California, but raised in a small town in Iowa. My heart lies somewhere between the ocean, small town values and charm with a love for Southern culture and tradition. I grew up in the local church and accepted Jesus as my savior at a very young age. It wasn’t until I was in junior high that I fully realized what that meant, and began to live my life deeply rooted in God’s word and pursue his best for my life. It took me a long time to realize that I didn’t need to have a “big conversion” story to matter in God’s kingdom, he came for you, he came for me, he came for us all.
I left my small town for college, and attended North Central University in Minneapolis, MN. Graduating with my B.A. in Youth Ministry in 2005. Right after graduation I became a junior high youth pastor at a local church in Northern Arizona. In 2007 I married my husband Orion, we lived in South Twin Cities for several years working with a local church plant in a suburb of St. Paul. In 2009 we moved to Phoenix to take on a position of youth pastors at a local church. Our daughter Ava was born in 2010, and our son in 2012. For the last several years we’ve worked done ministry work with a few church plants, and continued to stay busy with work both in the local church, and para church ministries.
I’ve spent the last several years raising my children, and while with the support of my husband and family pursued the call God has on my life. Which is really to reach people and share his love with them. In 2008 I started a family blog as way to stay in touch with our family we lived so far away from, over the years it’s morphed into more than I could imagine- from being a secondary income provider for my family, to a way to share my writing and interests with others. I’ve written several guest posts on other blogs and been an online contributor as well.
Most recently I launched ‘The Flourish Together’ podcast in 2019 as a way to share stories of growth and change and learn from others, together as we flourish through life! God is always surprising me on the ways he continues to use me in this life, thank you for joining me on this journey.
