EP 26: Clearing Out Virtual Clutter

We spend a lot of time online, right?

It’s where our culture is. It’s where we find friendship and community at times. A year ago when I was clearing out the physical clutter in my life, God really spoke to me about the “virtual clutter” in my life as well. Today we’re exploring this topic.

Here you’ll find practical tips that I used to in my own life during this season of pruning and clearing. Give it a listen below.

Finding freedom in this area is so key, it’s not just physical clutter that gets into our spaces and makes an impact. I hope you feel encouraged today as you tackle your inbox, your social media presence and feeds, and anything else that isn’t serving you well.

EP 25: Authenticity vs. Transparency

Today we’re tackling the topic of authenticity vs. transparency. Most of us think these are the same, but in fact they are two very different topics and ideas. Today we’re going to explore why we need to be authentic always, and transparent with only a few people we trust with our story.

Being an authentic person has more to do with you being who God has created you to be, and less to do with how much info you’re sharing or putting out into the world.

We see this in Jesus’ life. Jesus had the twelve disciples, but within them he had three that he was even more transparent who those who were close to him. He was always authentic with people, but transparent with a few who were close to him.

EP 24: Can We Flourish During Hard Seasons?

Can we flourish during hard seasons?

The short answer, “yes.”

I think so. I think we can flourish during hard seasons of our lives. But I firmly believe part of that begins with surrendering what you are going through at the time to Jesus. Let him take the burden and be with you while you walk through a difficult time.

This episode was inspired by my conversation in episode 16, give it a listen here if you haven’t yet!

What's In My Travel Toiletry Bag.

We recently came back from an eight day trip to the Midwest to see family and friends. When I travel I like to have all the essentials but don’t like to over pack. Over the years I’ve narrowed down what I really need when I travel and what works for me. I thought I’d share with you all the things I pack in my travel toiletry bag; a couple things to note:

  • all my items are either travel sized or products put into travel sized containers.

  • all of my toiletries are Beautycounter products unless otherwise noted.

  • as mentioned I bring only what’s needed so I don’t over pack.

My travel bag is a Kate Spade nylon cosmetic tote. I love this because it’s nylon it wipes clean with just water. It’s easy to clean and has plenty of pockets on the inside, and a hanging strap to use on a hook. Here’s a peek at the inside.

I keep travel size of q-tips and just refill this when I get home after every trip, same with the cotton balls. Dr. Bronners travel soap for my body wash, I also keep this container and refill. Floss, and cleaning cloths for my glasses. I get these travel ones from Target optical.

Next up all my shampoo, conditioner, lotion, etc. I use these travel size bottles and just fill them and refill them after each trip.

Most all of my brushes are from Eco Tools, I love this brand so much. They are quality and very affordable, if you need to get yourself some new brushes I highly suggest this starter set- it comes with everything you need.

The smaller front bag is from the same collection and it holds all my makeup for travel, if you’re curious about what’s in this bag check out my simple makeup routine here.

Everything is linked below, you can purchase these books or pick them up at your local library.

  1. Plan B by Pete Wilson

  2. Wild & Free by Jess Connolly + Hayley Morgan

  3. Dance, Stand, Run by Jess Connolly

  4. The Road Back to You by Ian Morgan Cron + Suzzanne Stabile

  5. Emotionally Healthy Spirituality by Peter Scazzero
