Getting immunizations and shots can be scary for any kid. Since Ava is now at the age where she knows what's going on and going to happen one of the things we like to do at home before we go to get immunizations is talk to her first. We remind her several times days before about what's going to happen.

Another thing we like to do is have her practice "giving shots" to her little brother and stuffed animals. We make a fun game out of it, and let her play the Doctor role.

A quick stop at Walgreens for a thermometer, band-aids and a medicine dropper to act as our shot and we had all the props for this fun game!

Walgreens is an easy stop for back to school goodies, but with their on site clinics it's also an easy choice for back to school immunizations too! No appointments needed, and most insurance plans are accepted.

Walgreens has partnered with United Nation Foundations Shot@Life Campaign to provide immunizations to school age children (7 and older) in need. When you get a shot at Walgreens, they will then provide a shot for those children. These immunizations help protect children from illnesses like whooping cough and meningitis.

Our Joyfully Oily Journey Using Young Living Essential Oils

Since January we've been using Young Living Essential Oils (YLEO) to improve our over all health. I had heard about them for months, and after doing some research of my own and listening to others' stories I decided to take the jump and order a starter kit and dove in. I'm excited to share with you a bit of our journey today.

One of the biggest reasons that I really was excited to try YLEOs is for sleep aid. My son at the time was 13 months old in January and still hadn't slept through one night all the way through since he was born. I was hoping that Peace & Calming oil would help this.

I'm going to talk about the kit that I ordered really quickly which was the Premium Starter Kit. The kit comes with 11 oils, 10 of which are in the Everyday Oils collection + Stress Away oil. A home diffuser and a few sample size oils.

The Everyday oils are 10 of the most commonly used oils. What I loved about this was for the price you get a wide variety of oils to try out, plus the home diffuser is amazing. I signed up as a wholesale member which comes with a 24% discount on future orders. Ok, now that we got that out of the way, I wanna share some of my oily experiences with you.

Used this combo to help with calming when we finally took away my son's pacifiers. It helped calm him and ease the discomfort.

As I mentioned I'd wanted to try these oils out for help with my son's sleeping. The first night I applied Peace & Calming to the bottoms of his feel diluted with some coconut oil, I also diffused the same oil in his room before bedtime.

The first night he slept through the night. He slept 7pm till 7 am! I couldn't believe it, before he'd been waking up three times a night. He'd go down at 7pm and wake at midnight, 3m and finally again at 7am.

Of coarse I needed to test this theory before calling it a "win" I did the same thing for the next couple nights and he slept through them all just like the first night. I was excited that oils were helping him with his sleep. This was a victory for our family, and we were enjoying sleep ourselves.

Young Living Essential Oils are so versatile and since everyone's body is so different in how they respond to them the oils can be used for so many uses and in so many different combinations.

The Oils that come in the kit are; Joy, Frankincense, Lemon, Lavender, Peppermint, Purification, PanAway, Peace & Calming, Thieves and Valor.

I used Thieves this past winter to help keep sickness and germs away and I'm happy that none of my family got hit with a nasty flu bug like we did last year.

I used Purification + Peppermint on my daughter to help clear an ear infection.

Joy is one of my favorites, I love the smell and I like to call it my "get stuff done" oil. It gives me energy and motivation. In result I get lots done when I diffuse it in my home.

I like to use Purification in my home to get rid of nasty smells too.

I've been using oils for the last 6 months and I'm enjoying what I'm learning and how they are helping my family's overall health.

Another thing I love about YLEO is the community and support that I get from my Joyfully Oily team! We have a whole Facebook group dedicated to support + learning about oils.

If you're interested in YLEO please let me know, you can leave a comment here or email me at andreaworley@live.com I'd love to help answer questions. If you'd like to be added to our Facebook group please let me know about that too.

Running Favorites

I started running towards the end of 2013, I used to hate running. I've recently fallen in love with running though. I told myself that this year I was going to run more and challenge myself in this area. I even ran my first race a few months back!

Today I wanted to share with you some of my very fave products that help make running more enjoyable and fun because that is possible!

Danskin running shorts- I buy mine at Wal-Mart they are $4! You can't beat that, they come in lots of different colors too!

Polar Heart Rate Monitor- This is great for tracking your calories to see how many your burning, it comes in lots of different colors but mine is pink! $61

Asics GT 1000 Running Shoe- My husband bought these for me for Christmas last year, never would I thought in my life I'd ask for these but I love'em! I was running in shoes that were more than 10 years old so these were a great upgrade and so light on my feet! $75

Are you a runner too? What are some of your favorite products to help you with running, I'd love to hear them in the comments below!

Quick Morning Workout

The last year I've been focusing on losing weight, and I'm happy that I've met that goal of losing the baby weight and a little more. This year I want to focus on toning up more, I've been adding weights into my workout and seeing some results. Although I'm realizing I need to push myself farther. I've been trying to do a quick 20 minute workout in the mornings during Zane's nap time and then after my husband gets home at night I try to sneak in another 20 minute workout. Which usually is running or one of my DVDs.

It's getting way to hot here in Arizona to run outside, this week it's been over 100 degrees! So I've been loving my Beach Babe DVD & 30 Day Shred DVD. I hope to get back to running more once it cools down.

In the mornings I've been doing this quick workout, it doesn't take very long at all. I do it with 5 pound weights and it really gets my legs burning!

If you aren't sure what a reverse crunch is it's where you lay down on the floor with your legs in the air at 90 degrees and lift them up where you butt is off the ground. This works the lower abs & mommy pooch!

Squat & Press using the weights as you come up from your squat raise your arms in the air and "press." This works your legs and the added weights work out your arms.

As you go down in a lunge curl your biceps with the weights.

So easy and such a good quick workout!

Let me know if you try this and let me know what you think!
