The Freedom That Comes When We Walk in a Measure of Grace.

I was recently chatting with my husband about how I've learned some big lessons in operating in and out of grace for others when it came to my relationships/friendships. I know that I haven't always operated with a measure of grace, I've been easily hurt or offended because of this. Especially when people never intended that. But God has really grown me in this idea that if I operated in grace towards others and let him do the judging it's freedom for my soul and the others around me.

Today's devotional video is inspired by this action. I hope you enjoy! If you haven't already subscribed to my YouTube channel you can do so here.

DIY | Painted Bathroom Vanity

We've been slowly making changes around our house when our budget allows. I'm all about tackling smaller projects that are easy to manage like our master bath. One thing I don't like in our home is the builder basic fixtures and vanities. I set out to makeover our master bath with some budget friendly makeovers.

The first was making over the bathroom vanity, I decided to paint it with some chalk paint. I've used it before on furniture and loved the turn out. Here's the before of out bathroom vanity.

To start I wiped everything down with a cloth and made sure there wasn't any dirt or dust on them. Then I took all the doors off and pulled out the drawers. The thing I love about chalk paint is the easy prep and application.

I used General Finishes Milk Paint in Driftwood. I also used the same brand in their top coat to help add life to our painted cabinets. The paint I had left over from another project so this was practically free!

Here's the after; I love how it turned out.

I love the way this vanity turned out, it really transforms the space and I can't wait to keep making small updates in this bathroom. Next up, a new light fixture! Here's a little quick budget break down:

Paint $18 (used for two projects and still have some left)

Pulls $17.36

Have you recently transformed a space? Share them with me in the comments below I'd love to see them.

When All I'm Called to Do is Love Jesus and His People.

A couple weeks ago at book club a friend and I were chatting about the pressure we put on ourselves, the pressure our Christian culture adds to finding out and figuring out "God's purpose and will for our lives."

Most of my teenage years and early college was spent on this question; What is God's will for my life? Which was mostly circled around the major I was going to choose in college, and what I was going to do once I graduated. I put so much pressure on myself to have it all figured out by the time I graduated. I put so much pressure on myself to just choose one thing for Christ and go in that direction.

And I'm willing to be you've felt similar feelings as well. In the last six years God has grown my faith and understanding of Him in ways that I never knew before. I've had to do a lot of letting go of my own expectations, others expectations, pressures of the church, and pressure that I put on myself to come to a better understanding of what God's will for my life is.

Here's what I know; when I strip away all of that God's biggest calling for my life is love him and love His people.  (Matt 6:5, 1 Cor. 13:13)

It's just as simple as that.

No need to make it over complicated. No need to stress and fret. Because if I'm walking in love for Christ and his people anything I do in his name is significant for the kingdom.

That means that I can be a dentist and do a lot of things for Christ. That means I can be a mama who just trying to raise her babies to love Jesus and make a big impact for Christ. That means no matter my vocation or what I'm doing in my life as long as I'm doing it in love of the Father this will always be his will for my life.

Today I want to encourage you to let yourself off the hook, let your expectations go of what you thought things would look like, let the pressures you feel in life fade away.

And ask yourself this question; If I love Jesus and my desires is to make him known what impact can I make on his kingdom right where I'm at in what I am doing?

The answer to that question is God's will for you. You can never go wrong by loving Jesus and His people.

Verrado Coffee Company

Ya'll know I'm a coffee lover, through and through. As much as I love my Starbucks, I also enjoy finding local spots around my home to enjoy. There's nothing quite like a hometown coffee shop that roasts their own beans.

I was so happy to stumble upon Verrado Coffee Co. located in the Verrado Neighborhood of the West Valley of Phoenix. This cozy little place is pretty close to my house, they have great coffee and a very friendly staff.

Zane and I like to go to story time on Wednesday mornings while Ava is at school, and it's quickly becoming my 'go-to' gathering spot for hanging out with friends. They have an adorable "den" area that you can reserve for larger parties, Bible studies or other group things.

This kids reading nook is one of my favorite things about this place! I can sit and sip my coffee and know my kids are totally entertained. They love it here as much as I do.

If you live in the West Valley and would love to check out Verrado Coffee Company here's their details:

1829 N Verrado Way Buckeye, AZ 85396
