M A R C H Goals.

So now that we're ten days into the month, let's chat about goals!

I had three goals for the month of February, but I forgot to blog all about them. I don't know where that month went but it seemed like it was over as soon as it started. Here were my goals for that month:

  1. read 4 new books- fail. I only read 1.
  2. visit our friends in California- success. we had the best time visit friends. scroll back a few posts and we can read about our trip.
  3. purge & organize the house- success. I did a major clean out and went room by room. it felt so great getting rid of things. toys, clothing, stuff that was cluttering my kitchen.

Ok, so let's move onto March goals:

We're still working on our kitchen makeover. I'd love to complete the cabinet painting in the next week or so. It's taking a lot longer than expected only because we aren't spending non stop time on it, we broke it up into sections.

Read 3 new books, ya'll I need to catch up on my reading goals.

Finish our taxes, I should say start them and finish them in the next two weeks. I like to have mine done before the month of April rolls around. I hate waiting last minute. I'm usually done by this time, but this year I'm all sorts of behind.

Go on 2 dates. Last month we only were able to get away once. We do a lot of in home dates but I love trying to get out of the house for dates at least every other week.

So there you have it a short list but very determined list of goals. What are some of your monthly goals? Share them in the comments below.

A New Favorite Dress!

I'm a skirt and dress girl through and through. Sure I have my casual days of t-shirts and jeans but when I get ready for the day or like to dress up those are the first things I go towards. I love easy dresses and skirts that make style look effortless.

I was searching for a new black & white stripe dress, I had one that I loved but it quickly became to big after losing weight. I stumbled upon this one from Ollie Marie Boutique. I love it so much, the fabric is really soft and buttery. It's flowy and forgiving, and I love the hi low effect. I have a hard time with maxi dresses since I'm so short but this is the perfect length.

Perfect for wearing during Springtime and the coming hot months here in Phoenix!  I feel like you could dress this up with heels but for church yesterday I went with my fave sparkly sandals from Target!

DIY Eczema Cream

I found these mini mason jars in the Target One Spot and I knew they'd be perfect for using for some oil blends and creams. Ava has super sensitive skin and over the years we've tried just about every over the counter cream and lotion to help her skin. After taking a look at the list of ingredients in these I didn't feel comfortable continuing to use them. Most lotions from the store are filled with these chemicals and tons of things I can't even pronounce.

That's why I'm so thankful for my essential oils, they are safe for my family to use on a daily basis, and I don't have to worry about harsh chemicals. I whipped up some exzema cream for Ava's skin and it's been working wonders. Here's how you can make your own.

I use coconut oil from Trader Joe's, it works great, it's organic and you can get a jar for $5.99 that lasts a long time. For this blend I used lavender & melaleuca oils both from Young Living. Mix it all together using the recipe above and store in a glass jar. This recipe is the perfect portion for these mini jars, you could also double this if you wanted to make more.

That's it! Store in your medicine cabinet and apply liberally where needed. If you need help ordering oils or want more info on them email me (andreaworley@live.com) and I'll be happy to help!

What are some of your favorite oils to use?

White Chicken Chili

This has been one of my favorite go to meals for these winter months! I've been making it a lot and my family loves it to.

What You'll Need:

3 chicken breasts

2 can chicken stock

4 cups water

2 cans great northern beans

1 Jar Salsa Verde (12-18 oz)

Handful of cilantro

Avocados

Tortialla chips

In a crock pot place your chicken and an inch or two of the chicken stock (save the rest of the stock for your soup.) Cook on low for 4-6 hours. When chicken is cooked take out and shred all the chicken.

In a large stock pot place shredded chicken, rest of the chicken stock, beans and salsa verde. Bring to a boil. Stir.

Let boil for 10-15 minutes.

Place in soup bowls and garnish with cilantro, chips and avocado. I load my soup up with all these things, if you'd like to add more add to your own liking.

It's delish! Let me know if you try this recipe and how you like it!
