Finding community can be hard, it can take time. And once you finally find it, and get into a groove, it could all potentially change. What do you do when it changes? God gave me a perspective shift and change a few years back that gave me a lot of growth a clarity in my relationships. I wanted to share my heart with you today on this matter. EP 16: Grief, Loss and Hope with Ashley Lancaster

Today’s episode is with Ashley Lancaster, we chat in this intimate conversation about miscarriage and infant loss. We chat about dealing with grief and pain as well. This is an important episode, it’s an emotional one. But I firmly believe that so many of you are going to be blessed by Ashley’s story and I think it’s important to share. A little bit more about Ashley:

I’m Ashley, a proud wife and homeschooling mom to six children (four here with us and two in Heaven)! I began blogging in 2008 to document married life, but it quickly became a “mommy blog” in 2009 when I gave birth to my first child. I blogged for years and discovered that I loved communicating and sharing what was on my mind, what I was enjoying and things that our family was doing. Over the years I’ve shared content on other platforms like YouTube and Instagram, and I truly love exchanging ideas about how we all “do life.” Some things that I love and make me who I am: singing, traveling, the world of Disney, all things England, and discussing personalities. My biggest passions are developing a unique and Christ-centered family culture and growing deeper in my walk with the Lord in all seasons of my life!

Jade Facial Rollers, Do They Work?!

What’s the deal with the facial rollers out there? Have you seen them?

A few months ago I came across these, and they are rising in popularity over the last year.

“Jade facial rollers have been used to massage the skin since the 17th century in China,” says dermatologist Melissa Kanchanapoomi Levin, M.D., clinical attending at NYU Langone and Mount Sinai Hospital. Anecdotally—i.e. based on about 50 reviews and articles I’ve read on the internet—jade rollers are said to “remove toxins” from the skin, smooth fine lines, decrease dark circles and under-eye bags, ease tension headaches, calm inflammation, heal breakouts, brighten skin, and create an overall feeling of “zen.” (Marie Claire)

The roller helps massage the lymphatic system, which is a network of tissue and cells. Rolling helping to reduce the water that adds to puffiness in your face. So, I tried one out. I found this one at Walmart for a steal and decided I was going to try out this trend, and see what I thought first hand.

First impressions: cooling to the face, after a few uses my face has that “flushed” look. I’ve been using it morning and evening every day for a few weeks now. Overall, I love the cooling feeling of the roller in the morning, it’s cool on my face and really wakes me up I feel. In the evenings, it’s relaxing to me as I do my nightly skincare routine and get ready for bed.

I really like using it twice a day and adding in my fave Vitamin C serum. I gently pat the serum on my face and use my rose quartez roller over the areas. So far I’m loving this addition to my skincare routine, and it looks pretty on my bathroom counter.

EP 14: Why Do We Need Community?

The topic of community and community building is all around us today. I told you from the very beginning that we were going to explore this topic over and over again in this podcast because it’s one of the main topics this podcast is centered around.

We’re made for community.

We’re hardwired for it.

Why?

Simply because God made us that way. He made us to be in community with him and with each other.

Today in this episode we’re exploring the “why” behind our desire and need for community. I hope you’re encouraged today to get out there, go first and start building community in whatever season God has you in.
