EP 31: What I Learned by Pressing Pause on Social Media

A couple weeks ago I pressed pause on my social media. I took a break and took some time off from using and being on social media across the board. We all need a break sometimes, we all need to press pause sometimes and that’s ok. Here’s a few lessons that I learned during my couple weeks off.

When you are not on your phone all the time you really begin to notice everyone around you even more who is on there phones and see how they are reacting and responding to life.

You can not fully be in the moment when you are experiencing it from behind a phone. Taking pictures and making sure you preserve memories is great. But what I really learned what that one picture will do, a few will do and I don’t have to constantly be glued to my phone. I can put it down, experience life and live it with my people.

EP 28: What Kills Community?

Community done right is an amazing sight that brings us closer to our creator and each other. But when it’s done wrong or approached with the wrong motivation it can be difficult. Today we’re chatting about the #1 reason I believe community fails. Let’s jump in and see what the Bible has to say.

Philippians 2:2-4

Then make my job complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and purpose. Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves. Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others.

  • We kill community when we make it all about us and our needs instead of the needs of others and advancing the kingdom of Christ.

Some things to consider:

  • How would our communities flourish if we started to have an attitude of serving instead of seeing what we could take and how it would benefit us?

  • If you are finding community building to be hard or difficult I would challenge you to look at your heart and motivations and see if there’s room for adjusting?

EP 27: Girl, You Are Enough

Darling, beautiful girl you are enough.

Exactly where you are.

Exactly who you are.

It’s enough for Jesus, it always has been. It’s time we start believing it too and leaning into it.

Have you struggled with knowing you are enough? I know I have. I hope you’ll listen to today’s podcast and find encouragement.
