Affordable Fall Style

Something that is really important to me is creating an affordable style that helps me feel confident everyday. I think style should be attainable and affordable. I love finding good deals. I also love mixing high/low pieces together. Style for me is about finding all the right things for a look and putting something together that reflects me and helps me feel my personal best.

I wanted to start sharing more of that with you guys, and some of my style and shopping tips.

Here’s a few tips to get you started:

  • look everywhere- I shop in a variety of places, you sometimes I don’t know how good some stores are until you start looking around.

  • use poshmark- I love poshmark. it’s not just for selling, you can also find a lot of great gently worn items. i look for items that are no longer in stock that i can get at an affordable price. take my glitter loafer below, they were from poshmark and i got them for a steal. (use my code ANDREAMWORLEY and get $10 added to your account when you sign up and download the app.)

This tee, I showed it on my IG stories this week. I told you it was good. It’s so soft and comes in a ton of colors too. I love a good basic tee, and this one is it! And at under $8 you can scoop up all the colors. My jeans are old from Stitchfix- they were an investment at the time but I’ve had them now for 4 years and they are still going strong (exact linked below.)

My bag is Kate Spade another investment, but my bags and shoes I consider investments because I have them for a while and wear them literally into the ground.

My shoes are Sole Society, they are sold out everywhere. I found them on Poshmark, barely worn and at a great price. Similar linked below at a range of prices.

Moral of the story; fashion can be affordable. And it can be fun, have fun with it. Enjoy the hunt for the right things that work for you and your budget.

August Amazon Favorites.

Are you an Amazon shopper? A couple years ago I was wondering “what in the world” do people buy there? I mean seriously, that was me. But over the last year Amazon has become my BFF and I am using them all the time. My season of life has gotten busier, and I don’t have all the time to go to stores. But late at night when I’m sitting watching t.v. I’ll search Amazon for stuff, and find the best pieces at the best prices too!! I can’t wait to share with you all the things I’ve been loving lately from Amazon.

Let’s get to it!

  1. Matte black silver ware- Ya’ll we haven’t replaced our silverware for 12 years! It was time- I really wanted a black set of silverware, I searched high and low and found these at the best price on Amazon! They are a good weight, and haven’t tarnished. I even ordered another set after my first purchase!

  2. Simple Modern double walled cup- I was looking for a double walled tumbler with a handle, it also had to have a lid that closed. This one is perfect, and it’s so affordable. There’s so many of these types of tumblers out there, and this one is awesome for the price!

  3. Scrunchie Pack- if you have a scrunchie loving girl in your home you need to get these! 28 of them for $10! You can’t beat that, and they come in so many awesome colors.

  4. Continuous Spray Water bottle- if you’ve got kids with bed head in the morning you need this! This water bottle has a continuous spray, it works so well! I add a few drops of tea tree and peppermint essential oils to the water to ward against lice! yes, mamas it works and you’ll want to do that, because ain’t no body got time for that. trust!

  5. Travel Backpack- I wanted a travel backpack that I could use to put my laptop in and travel with that was padded. This one has tons of compartments for your tech, and inside and out. The quality is really good, thick fabric and I’m so impressed!

Amazon has really become one of my fave place to shop, it’s so easy with a Prime Membership. I can’t wait to share these monthly favorites with you more. I’m going to make it a regular series here on the blog! So stay tuned for all the things I’m finding on Amazon and more!

EP 33: I'll Go First

A few years ago when I felt God stirring my heart for community, I knew he was challenging me to simply “go first.”

It was a scary thought for sure. I am an introvert. It’s not my normal to be outgoing with others. I love people, but sometimes I struggle with how to talk to people, what to say and where to take the conversation. But what I learned through this is that people don’t care about all that, they care more about the effort and intention.

Today on the show we’re discussing how having an “i’ll go first” heart can change the game on how you pursue people and community.

Give it a listen and let me know what you think in the comments.

Key Takeaways:

  • Take one vulnerable step each day toward building relationships and community with others.

  • Trust God and His leading to work out the rest.

EP 32: You Were Created to Flourish

You were created to Flourish, yes you!

Did you know that? When you are planted in the house of the Lord, you will flourish in the courts of God. No matter what happens to you, or what’s done to you- you were created to flourish.

Flourishing doesn’t just happen on its own, it happens with intention.

Intentional planting.

We need to be rooted well.

Psalm 92:13 (NIV)

planted in the house of the Lord, they will flourish in the courts of our God.

HOMEMADE POP-TARTS

Do your kids love pop- tarts? Mine do. I never buy them because I think they are very expensive and I don’t love all the added sugars and preservatives in them.

I recently learned an easy way to make your own pop-tarts at home and they are delish! In just a few easy steps you can whip these up at home and know exactly what’s in them too. This is also an easy “cooking” activity to do with kids. It’s very beginner level so your kids can help too!

You’ll need:

  • pre made pie crusts

  • strawberry preserves (we used organic strawberry preserves from Costco)

  • frosting & sprinkles if you desire

Take crusts out of packaging and let sit at room temperature for 15-20 min making it easier to roll out and fill. Roll one dough out, and fill with strawberry filling. Place the other dough on top, and press slightly around it with your fingers to seal the edges.

You’ll want to take a pizza cutter and then begin to cut your pop-tarts into rectangles or squares. Using a fork seam the edges together to get that pop-tart look.

Bake in oven according to pie crust directions.

Take them out of the oven, allow them to cool. Then frost and decorate as you desire. I left some without sprinkles since my husband doesn’t like them. The kids loved these, they devoured them immediately.

Enjoy! Let me know if you make these. You could change the fruit filling and make something different each time.
